My recent favorite song for the last few days is “Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai” from the upcoming movie “Woh Lamhe”. The lyrics is beautifully written and Kay Kay has sung brilliantly.
The music is just too good especially the opening guitar riff. Even though it is a blatant lift of the track “Tak Bisakah” by PeterPan(mp3 here) but still I would like to thank the music director, Pritam for introducing us with such a good music.
Well, I dont have much interest in the story of Woh Lamhe as it is based on the high profile romance of Mahesh Bhatt and Parveen Babi but considering the impresseive performances of Shiney Ahuja in his last few films, (Hazaar Khwahishein…, Gangster) I am expecting it to be a good movie.
Lets see.

Very nice song indeed.All the Mahesh Bhatt movies have good music and well he discovers these new talents and all too.He discovered Atif too.Kay kay is a good versatile singer and everyone knows that.Pritam meanwhile has been doing a great job with his music right from Dhoom to Woh Lamhe to Pyaar Ke Side Effects.His music has this vibe which makes you wan’t do dance and sing along.Very nice post indeed.I guess the movie would be good.And that movie was Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi.

Im an Indonesian student studying outside Indo (and in my school there are Indians too and when they heard Peterpan’s song they think we’re the one who’s copying) and I PERSONALLY dont think this is right and i dont like it either… I love peterpan’s songs especially “Tak Bisakah” which means “Cant You?”… You dont just copy their song without their permission…. It’s just plein rude… Just because Peterpan is Indonesian and we’re really not that great comparing to a huge country like India doesnt meant we’re worthless and everyone can just do whatever they want to do with us (In my school I stand up for Indonesian’s right because it’s an international School) So i really think Peterpan should really do something about this… This is one the reason other countries thinks we’re coward…. (So who think i should be a President to make Indonesia better??? HAHAHAHA) Just mocking around…. But who actually agrees with me with the whole Peterpan thing??

Their songs are really good, loved by all walks of people. I think ‘Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai – Woh Lamhe’ sounds more upbeat but when people hear the song (for those who are familiar with Peter Pan) they are definitely gonna associate the song back to ‘Tak Bisakah’.

Duh sebenernya versi india nya lebih bagus dr versi asli cm ya walo bagaimanapun gw tetep tidak setuju kalo mereka bilang “terinspirasi oleh peterpan” duhh klo terinspirasi ya jangan semua nya mirif dong hehehe cm pas bagian refrain nya aja dibuat mleset dikit tapi “tetep” bagian lainnya sama walo yg versi indianya lebih ngebeat. Its been a gr8 song of the year 2006. Atfirst i listened this song as a new arrival at a music store. Later i bought it and seriously i cudnt get rid of it now. Im still doubtful how Kay kay managed to deliver such a liveliness and cheer his voice. Lyrics outstanding. Music will drive you through in a water cycle which will insists for a replay. All the best and kudos to the choreography

actually, there are hundreds of indian songs lifted into indonesians (dangdut) since as long as i can remember and i’ve never heard of a single indian complaining. not to mention bollywood movies and mexican telenovelas, many of the singers even dress like indian (ellya khadam, elvy sukaesih, etc) . now that one indonesian song is lifted into indian and thousands of indonesians make such a big fuss out of it. hypocritical i would say (and i’m indonesian!).
i agree with comment #81, indonesia is like the piracy capital of the world, even most of the stories in the famous warkop DKI movies shamelessly are pure copies of boboho movies (hao shao wen).
just look at the nasty comments in indonesian littering this blog which are very uncalled for.

I agree with some of you that many dangdut songs are copied from Indian songs. But dangdut is often considered as low class music genre in Indonesia, so people don’t really care. Low class don’t have enough talent, so it’s understandable that they copy things (although it’s not ok).
But the case with “Tak Bisakah” being copied into “Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai” is rather different for Indonesians. Not only this time Indonesian song being copied but also because Indians treat this like their own original song, claim it as the best Indian song ever but yet you guys pretend that you don’t know that it is a copy. The worse thing is you guys give credit to Pritam for the beauty of the song and the fact that it’s beauty stuck in your mind. You should praise the original author , PETERPAN.
So for us (Indonesians) it’s really hurt that one of famous songs from one of our best supergroup is treated like this. Like no respect at all. I guess that’s one of the reason we’re so angry.
If you want to know who this Peterpan band is, I’ll give you some narrative. They are like the darling of Indonesian music right now, popular not only in Indonesia but also in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. Not only Malay speaking people love their songs, even Chinese in Malaysia and Singapore who usually don’t like Malay songs, fall in love with this band. They have fans like from 2 years old babies (I know for sure because I saw my friends’ toddlers sang their songs and dance to the tunes) to grandparents.
IMO, “Tak Bisakah” is not their best song. It’s not even the most catchy one. They have other much better songs. So when Indians say that Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai as their best song, I was wondering “Jeez…what’s the other like?” Check out other Peterpan’s songs, I’m sure you guys will fall in love with them. They don’t play techno though, more into pop-rock sometimes pop-brits genre. Too bad they don’t release English song, I think they should, then they would go international.

all the indonesians that have been posting these ignorant comments need to grow up, soooooo many indonesian songs have similar beats to foreign songs, particularly in the punk/rock genre. Pritam must be an ardent fan of Ariel Peterpan, he keeps copying Ariel’s songs. BTW, for the same movie, Pritam also copied another song from another Indonesian artist. This time he copied the song from Indonesia’s song-bird (now famous in Europe), Anggun. Just compare Anggun’s song “Entre Una Femme” with “Yeh Ishq Hai”. Jadi sekarang bkn cuma satu lagu Indo yg dicopy oleh India, tapi udah tiga (itu baru yg ketauan, yg nggak ketauan entah berapa).
